   Templates

Templates provide a way for the user to store and easily access common SQL or PL/SQL statements or constructs.  Templates can be used for things like commonly used SQL statements, standardized PL/SQL constructs (package definitions, table definitions, etc.), and many other uses.  Templates are available in a special browser on the SQL Editor Window, along with Wizards.  The template can be selected from the browser and dropped onto the editor.  The contents will be inserted at the current cursor position.  By placing a vertical bar (|) in the template, the cursor position can be set when the template is used.  The cursor will be positioned at the vertical bar, and the vertical bar will be removed.

Templates are stored on the file system, and are organized by creating folders and subfolders using windows explorer, and placing Apollo Pro Template files into them.  The Templates Directory option in the Options Window allows the user to set the base folder(s) for the templates.
